LEAP Lunchtimes
LEAP (Learn, Explore, Active, Play) is our school's approach to outdoor play, inspired by the principles of OPAL(Outdoor Play and Learning). LEAP provides children with exciting opportunities to learn, explore, be active, and have fun through high-quality play experiences every lunchtime.
Children can choose from a range of engaging play zones, including adventure and obstacle challenges, construction and den building, imaginative role play, sand play, games, football, wheeled activities, and quiet conversation areas. This variety ensures that every child can find activities that match their interests and needs.
LEAP creates a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where children develop creativity, resilience, teamwork, communication skills, and independence. By offering meaningful play opportunities, we aim to promote positive behaviour, improve wellbeing, and ensure that lunchtimes are enjoyable for all.
LEAP is a simple, structured outdoorplaytime designed to be low-maintenance, consistent, and inclusive for allparticipants.
Zone 1- Adventure course (Assault course& traversing wall)
Zone 2- The construction zone (DenBuilding)
Zone 3- Push and pull zone (Prams,suitcases)
Zone 4- One the move zone (Skateboards)
Zone 5- Costume Corner (stage/dress up).
Zone 6- Sand pits- (KS1&2 yards).
Zone 7- Football (KS2 yard).
Zone 8- Game Zone
Zone 9- Calm/Conversation corner
